What is the differences between EPSON 4720 and i3200 print head?

Epson print heads are well-known in the digital printing industry. As we all know, Epson print heads have excellent performance in terms of printing accuracy and output speed. However, it is also the dismantling of Epson print heads. In addition to possible intellectual property risks, the original technical support, print head service life, production efficiency and quality assurance can not be compared with Epson regular print heads. So what is the difference between the genuine Epson I3200 nozzle and the disassembled head 4720 or 3200 ?

         Dots and satellite dots

From Figures 3 and 4, we can clearly see that every drops coming out of the 4720 print head has regular satellite dots or flying ink. And the main ink dot and satellite dots or flying ink positions are relatively fixed, accompanied by jitter. The I3200-A1 obviously has no similar flying ink and satellite points. Whether there are satellite points and flying ink is very important for the quality of small characters and precision pictures. We can clearly see the picture quality gap in Figure 5~Figure 8.

 

Production Speed

a. In terms of printing speed, the dismantling heads on the market can generally only reach about 17KHz, while the regular print heads can achieve 21.6KHz, which can increase production efficiency by 25%.

b. In terms of printing stability, the disassembly head uses Epson household printer disassembly waveforms, and the print head drive voltage setting is only based on experience. The regular head can have regular waveforms, and the printing is more stable. At the same time, it can also provide print head (chip) matching drive voltage, so that the color difference between the print heads is small, and the picture quality is better.

c. In terms of ink compatibility, the matching adjustment of the ink and waveform of the disassembled head depends on experience, which is not only time-consuming and poor matching. In the formal print head, Epson will provide the basic waveforms to the control board partners, and provide technical support with the control board partners to greatly improve production efficiency.

a. For the print head itself, the disassembled head is designed for home printers, while the regular head is designed for industrial printers. The manufacturing process of the internal structure of the print head is constantly updated.

b. For the control board, the design of electrical control signals such as the power-on and power-off sequence of the disassembled head can only be based on the experience of the designer, because there is no original factory support, the matching with the print head cannot be guaranteed, and a decryption card is required to disassemble the head It can be used only with the cooperation, and the regular head control board can be designed based on the Epson print head specification, and no decryption card is required.

c. At the ink level, the design of the disassembled head ink is "crossing the river by feeling the stones", and the compatibility with the print head cannot be guaranteed. For the regular head, the genuine and licensed Epson I3200-E1 nozzle is dedicated to eco-solvent ink. At the same time of design, it also cooperated with ink manufacturers to conduct matching experiments to greatly increase the service life of the print head.

In summary, although the original nozzle and the disassembled nozzle are both Epson nozzles, and the technical data is relatively close, the gap in actual use is relatively large. The reason should be that the application scenario of 4720 as a desktop printer should be non-continuous, narrow format, working environment temperature and humidity are good, and relatively speaking, the ink supplier is stable, so 4720 is here. A good experience in this environment. The environment faced in large-format printing is completely different. Large-format environments need to adapt to more inks, more complex environments, longer working hours, and more personalized customization functions. Therefore, without the technical support and cooperation of Epson, we want to play 4720 Pointing the style requires more time and effort, and the application scenario needs to be set more single. All in all, when we choose a print head, we should not only consider the price of a single print head, but also the cost of implementing these scenarios.
